11.10.2011 |LIGNA 2011, Hannover, Germany - Hall 13 C50

LIGNA exhibition, the world's undisputed premier event in the woodworking industry, offered again the best opportunity for exhibitors and visitors from all continents to present and/or get to know product applications and innovations relating to woodworking. A fact which both sides couldn´t pass just after difficult economic periods, and which will certainly strengthen the economical revival in the woodworking sector.

Most successful exhibition: inquiries from all over the world
"LIGNA 2011 was simply brilliant for TIGRA. Never before we have observed such a high run on our booth at the beginning of the tradeshow. During the whole exhibition time this situation only calmed slightly enabling interesting conversations and new contacts, "summed Bernd Motzer, Managing Director of the TIGRA group. "Customers and a large number of prospective clients from all continents enjoyed the Bavarian specialties and the pleasant atmosphere at our booth."

Also confirmed when talking with other exhibitors, the international aspect of this tradeshow has become more and more important for TIGRA, producing carbide for woodworking and metal working in Germany for over  25 years. Even if the majority of inquiries derivate from the entire European area, a quarter of the fair requests could already  be allocated to the other four continents this year. In particular, the U.S., Australia, China and Brazil were also  emphasized here.

High demand for PCD products
The vvisitors from near and far were very interested in TIGRA´s PCD blanks and segments. Thanks to various, partially specially developed PCD grades, the customers can always find the suitable grade for each application to achieve very long tool life and excellent cutting results .in wood, chipboard, laminate, MDF, plastic, synthetic and composite materials and aluminum.
Also TIGRAs PCD grades are designed in a way that they can be worked up to 25% faster than many other commercially available grades.

Only within 3 working days: laser-cut PCD and CBN segments
New since a few weeks and pre-announced before the start of the tradeshow,  TIGRA´s quick delivery service for laser-cut PCD and PcbN parts. Fast process engineering together with the latest laser technology ensures that TIGRA can deliver individual segments due to custom-made specifications within 3 working days.

Favorite: TIGRA´s reversible knives "New Standard"
In times of enormous price turbulences of the carbide raw material the call for alternative solutions is getting louder simultaneously ensuring consistent quality at reduced costs. Therefore and just in time for the LIGNA show TIGRA presented the newly designed inserts "New Standard" that will set new standards in woodworking. Despite less manufacturing material of the knives and an equal grade quality the innovative knife version guarantees same cutting results as conventional cutting inserts at simultaneous cost savings.

Expanded range: Planer knives for the systems Enshin, Sinus and Variplan
Right to LIGNA and in addition to the presently offered planer knives for the systems Tersa, Terminus, Centrolock, Centrofix and Bulldozer, TIGRA presented three futher knife versions for planer heads of the systems Variplan, Enshin and Sinus in carbide and HSS. Like the other systems the HSS knives are made according to the proven Black Oxide technology. Due to the optimized hardness in the polish ground cutting edge a long tool life and very good cutting results in the wood surface could be achieved.

Great interest: Expanded range of saw tips
TIGRA provides up to 9 different carbide grades for optimized working of various materials. All the saw tips, which are only produced in Bavaria, are subject to a 100% - control. Advanced camera technology in combination with a self-programmed image processing make it possible that each individual saw tip is measured and checked for possible errors. The high degree of automation ensures that a mass product like saw tips can be produced extremely competitive in Germany.

Matrix coating: exceptionally long tool life
The new matrix coating for back corrugated knives and thin planer knives   enticed many visitors. The universal MATRIX knives that appear in a light purple color ensure a five times longer tool life and thus reduced machine downtime compared to uncoated HSS. Additionally the knives can be resharpened several times as well. The specific type of coating also affects a lower resin and glue adherence on the cutting edge. As result there could be achieved an overall better cutting result.

Besides the new products the visitors also showed keen interest in the proven products and systems being displayed in a great variety in the illuminated showcases. Additionally TIGRA´s well-trained show team also distributed a large quantity of the newly launched woodworking catalog. Separated in product categories the catalog includes all sorts  of different cutting inserts with information about applications and the offered materials and grades.
In addition to the print version "Edition 2011", TIGRA´s catalog will soon be available for browsing and scrolling on the new homepage appearing soon.
