At this year's Xylexpo the Bavarian company offered its full range of cutting inserts made of tungsten carbide, HSS, also coated, as well as PCD, PcBN and CVD insert blanks and segments. Main focus, depending on the customer's application, always keeps to be finding the best cutting quality for working effectively in natural wood, MDF, HDF, chipboard, metal, iron, composite materials, aluminum, plastics and other materials.

Satisfied with the number of visitors on the booth
This year in Pavilion 2, the visitors on TIGRA´s booth were interested in the tried and tested product range of inserts, blanks and planer knives, but also in the expanded product groups of carbide saw tips and PCD.

Wide range of planer knives
Besides its thin and portable planer knives TIGRA offered 8 system planer Knives in tungsten carbide and in different HSS grades according to the latest Black oxide technology. Main characteristic features of these black knives are an extreme hardness on the cutting edge providing optimum cutting results and long service life, and an unbeatable low price. In addition to the planer knives for the systems Tersa, Terminus, Centrolock, Centrofix and Bulldozer, TIGRA presented the system planers for Variplan, Sinus and Enshin in carbide and black oxide.

Saw tips for circular saws in various grades and sizes
Thanks to major investments and immense own work in the own production of saw tips TIGRA could show a large and varied assortment of saw tips. TIGRA´s customers can select between 9 different carbide grades depending on the individual application. The program included saw tips and strobe blanks in mm and inch dimensions as well as pretinned saw tips.

More and more requested: PCD
The extremely hard and wear resistant PCD, shortly for polycrystalline diamond, gets more and more popular as cutting material in cutting tools for working wood, plastic and non-ferrous metals and provides high precision and efficiency. PCD-tipped tools are particularly used in the working of homogeneous chipboard, fiber board and plywood, as well as in hard natural wood. PCD being sintered on a tungsten carbide blank, provides an excellent mechanical strength and good lifetime, especially with abrasive materials. Depending on the application, the user also can choose between nine PCD grades providing optimum results. With TIGRA´s PCD grades the tool manufacturers can save up to 20% of machine capacity due to improved erodibility.

PcBN cutting materials and CVD blanks
In addition to woodworking TIGRA has started focussing on PcBN products and semifinished products for metal and composite material working. All the new products were introduced in the new catalog edition 2012 for metal and composite material working and at the Milan Fair. TIGRA also presented some special carbide parts being used in several industrial branches. Current examples are wear resistant plates, blanks, flat parts and knives, which are required in mechanical engineering and in working of textile, carbon, rubber and plastics. Customers around the world use TIGRA´s special expertise in the tungsten carbide production and application technology to optimize their own production and individual solutions.
