The GrindTec, located in Augsburg, world's leading show for the grinding technology, is becoming more and more important and represents an ideal platform for the increased interest around the machining and grinding of various materials. The participation of national and increasingly also international business grows significantly, so that the Augsburg fairground already reaches its limits despite the new additional hall. When the biennial fair taking place in March, opens its doors for five days exhibitors and visitors enjoy the interesting and profound discussions. All technologies and process areas are totally reflected by the variety of machine manufacturers and the special suppliers on the fairgrounds.

 

Beneficial proximity to the facility

For regional companies like TIGRA from Oberndorf, Bavaria, the GrindTec offers another major advantage to improve networking opportunities: the proximity of the company to the fair allows interested visitors to personally get to know TIGRA´s facility which is only 40 km away from the show. In particular, booth visitors from the United States took advantage of the specially arranged shuttle service to Oberndorf. In a company tour they could get a detailed impression of TIGRA´s unique tungsten carbide production with its mainly self-designed high-tech machines. Of course the visitors, 30 company owners of an American Association for woodworking also enjoyed the "Bavarian breakfast" with white sausages and wheat beer.

 

Unique product range

In the facilities in Oberndorf the medium-sized company manufactures high-precision cutting inserts of tungsten carbide for tools for woodworking and metalworking, for working of composite materials and for carbide wear parts used in various industrial sectors. In addition to tungsten carbide and HSS TIGRA also offers ultra hard cutting materials of industrial diamond (PCD), PcBN and CVD. According to this year's corporate slogan "Let´s shape the future together" and as a partner TIGRA always focuses on the customer´s often highest demands. With regard to the future, depending on the working material and the application optimized solutions are already being developed in order to ensure the highest efficiency and optimum quality for working of solid wood, MDF, HDF, board materials, metal, iron, composites, aluminum, plastics and other materials.

 

Novelties at the booth

Mainly the newly introduced products ensured great interest in TIGRA´s booth in Hall 5. To get an even better impression of TIGRA´s production of these special parts, the products were additionally presented in a variety of manufacturing processes by video. For the working of composite materials and metals in particular products such as preformed tungsten carbide rods used as milling cutters or drills in the tool to provide a long tool life, saw tips for circular saw blades and cutting inserts for metalworking were spotlighted at the show.

 

Booth visitors from over 35 countries

TIGRA´s always well-attended booth exceeded all expectations. It was surprising that not only visitors from German-speaking countries frequented the booth. The international aspect was imposing this year. The customers and prospects came from over 35 countries which underlined the growing interest of foreign booth visitors in new and proven products. Due to the successful show with numerous fair requests,

TIGRA can for sure expect a lot from the follow-up business.

 

New production hall

With the building of a new production hall in 2015, TIGRA has significantly gained more size and production area. Additional major investments in complementary technologies and equipment for the production could secure new and safe jobs as a further positive effect. Thus, the Bavarian company is optimally prepared for future projects and tasks to again enhance its already wide and unique product range.
