10.02.2011 |TIGRA USA shines in a new facility - Open House and big celebration

Our team in TIGRA USA

In 2008, TIGRA USA, a wholly owned subsidiary of TIGRA GmbH, Oberndorf in Germany, moved from West Jefferson to Hickory. As Hickory is a major center of U.S. furniture industry TIGRA as a world leader in tungsten carbide for woodworking has been thus even closer to the customers.
Despite the crisis year 2009, in which the American furniture industry had suffered declines of up to 50%, Helge and Bernd Motzer, Managing Directors of TIGRA GmbH, early decided that the previously leased building could only be an interim solution, and started with detailed construction plans.
By the end of 2010, the new building with over 500 square meters, consisting of some office rooms and a warehouse, was completed.
"In addition to export high quality products it has always been one of our goals to transfer a piece of Bavarian culture," said Helge Motzer. Therefore, the new home of TIGRA USA has a "Bayernstube", a cozy reception room with wooden bar, wood furniture, beer mugs and other memoirs from Germany. A piece of Bavarian hospitality, which the American customers appreciate  too.
Over 100 invited guests, most of them customers of TIGRA USA, attended the invitation to visit the new facility and enjoyed the subsequent celebrations in a pleasant atmosphere. With the newly built building TIGRA underlines once again its motto of 2011, "Being on the cusp of even greater success," which can be implemented even faster in practice now.
In the course of the celebrations Bernd Motzer thanked Donna Steele, Vice President of TIGRA USA, and her team for their hard and sincere cooperation, but also all the customers for their great support of new product development. Especially thanks to many American customers different product innovations have been tested thoroughly in recent years and later on successfully offered in the entire world market. For the TIGRA GmbH the US market is the biggest export market for cutting inserts for woodworking and metal working.
