Within only 2 years TIGRA has tackled two new construction sections. Decisive for the need of space was the unlimited development of new materials and products and the realization of comprehensive investment even after the global economic crisis 2008/2009. This led to a record turnover in 2010 - and the decision for the third phase of construction: 2012 a new logistics hall with 1300 m² surface was built. The vacated production area should be sufficient for the next 5 years.

But it turned out differently: With the new products developed 2008 - 2010 and the successful conquest of market share in existing product groups the turnover increased by 50% in only 2 years from 2010 to 2012. This made it necessary in 2013 to concern with an additional new construction.

After a careful planning the groundbreaking ceremony for the fourth phase of construction took place in the presence of prominent guests (see picture). After completion TIGRA´s built-up area will be increased to more than 10,000 m².

The new production area of 3,300 m² in particular had to be created being able to manufacture the new developments from the years 2009 - 2014 efficiently. These are products of newly developed materials, the expansion of the program in new markets for TIGRA and sales increases with ultra hard cutting materials such as synthetic diamond.

To cover all these items equipment and machinery such as very large sinter plants are required in which TIGRA´s manufactured materials will be converted into super hard base materials for highly wear resistant knives after pressing at temperatures of about 1,500°. The knives are intended for tools in woodworking and metal working.

TIGRA was founded in 1983. In 1995, the company moved into the new building in Oberndorf with an island in between the office framed with subtropical plants - as a company with a tiger in its name deserves.

Milestones in the company's history were the construction in 1995, the establishment of subsidiaries in the United States in 2000, in Brazil in 2005 and in China in 2008 and the conquest of the world market leadership in the main product groups in 2009. A special highlight was the presentation of the German Anton-Jaumann Prize in 2002 for "outstanding and innovative achievements for obtaining and expanding the business location of Bavarian Swabia."

The essential factor for TIGRA´s success is a highly motivated staff in all areas.
A team of highly qualified specialists in materials development, engineering, control engineering, computer science and all commercial areas continuously discovers new technologies and market advantages. Thus, since 2000, approximately 70 self-developed and built fully automatic machinery and equipment were integrated into the production - the basis for maintaining and expansion of the market leadership.
Dynamic growth with calculable risk should, according to the TIGRA management continue to determine TIGRA´s development.
