While standard layers are only applied to the HSS, the Matrix coating accurately intrudes into the material. TIGRAs universal MATRIX-coated HSS knives provide a 5 times longer tool life compared to uncoated HSS, reduce machine downtime and can be resharpened several times like conventional thin planer knives and corrugated knives. The special nature of the coating also means that less resin and glue stick on the cutting edge and additionally better cutting results could be achieved.
